The right vehicle depends on three things: how many people are travelling, how much luggage you have and how long you will spend on the road. Passenger numbers alone do not tell the full story.
Couples and small families: hatchback or sedan
For up to four passengers on short trips, a hatchback is fine. A sedan adds boot space, which matters as soon as you are away overnight.
Families of five or six: an MUV
An MUV such as an Ertiga-class vehicle suits most families. Remember that using the last row reduces luggage space, so share how much you are carrying.
Long journeys: Premium MUV or SUV
On long drives, second-row comfort makes a real difference. Premium MUVs are a favourite for elderly passengers, while SUVs suit rougher roads.
Large groups: a tempo traveller
For extended families, one tempo traveller keeps everyone together and saves running several cars.
